Archdeacon House
Barcelona
Barcelona
The Casa de l'Ardiaca (Archdeacon House) was rebuilt in the 15th-16th century by order of the Archdeacon Lluís Desplà, who converted his residence into a Gothic and Renaissance palace. In the 19th century, several owners made changes. In 1924 it became the site of the Arxiu Històric de la Ciutat de Barcelona (Historical Archives of the City). The current look of the square side dates from 1962, when the houses attached to the Roman wall were torn down. In the early 2000' the building was entirely restored.

I very much admire Europeans who restore and/or maintain buildings of historical significance. Buildings such as this are treasures. And you found some wonderful reflections to show us too, Xavi!
I like the reflections(especially the palm tree) and the building too.
La première seule aurait suffi : elle est parfaite ! Joli travail, Xani !
Adorable stones there and so lovely windows!
The wall is huge and you took amazing pictures from this beautiful building!

Oh, it remembers me my spring holidays! I loved those windows, each was a wonderful frame, and the way you caught all those reflections is perfect!
You really found great reflections. Love the info on the building too!

cheers from Uruguay :)
Those windows are really stunning... I like the mix between the ancient frame and the modernism of the glass...
The last one is my favourite, with this reflection of this steeple...
