Garden Bloggers' Bloom - Day November 2013

The castle of Villandry, is owned by the Carvallo family from Spain in 1906. Joaquin Carvallo  Gardens was created in the 1910s. The castle was remodeled in the eighteenth century, and was recently restored. It is a pleasant and familiar place in each piece and tells of the time with its furniture and decoration.

Villandry is a Renaissance castle located in the heart of the three levels that form the terraces and gardens.

This is the last of the great Renaissance châteaux built on the banks of the Loire. Emphasizes the harmony of its architecture and its gardens, the site is known for its gardens, spread over three levels, that combine aesthetics, diversity and harmony.

Villandry, is the art of garden

The garden combines decorative flowers and vegetables, regular rectangular grid and abundance of plants.

In the ornamental garden, holly is not only the representation of musical symbols, but also and especially the hearts, swirls, butterflies, etc. ... allegories of tender love, love, fickle love and tragic love.

The water garden, on the other hand is softer: the basin has an important role, the sound sources and large areas of lawn bring calm and tranquility to visitors. This is the most peaceful garden and is ideal for relaxing or ... to dream!

The site is complemented with a simple garden, which includes culinary and medicinal plants.
